"NOTHING CONCRETE IN MY HANDS " (2022) &
"SOMETHING CONCRETE IN MY HANDS" (2022)
In these two complementary but independent works, I sought to create a tension between the notions of concrete and dust. On one side we have concrete, a characteristic element of the act of building. It is solid, corporeal, dense. On the other, its dust, present both in the act of construction and destruction. It's tender, unstable. It disappears. By bringing concrete, but in powder form, both works propose a paradox between the tangible and the ethereal. If in the first a neutral gesture highlights this proposed paradox, in the second a gestural game translates the frustrated attempt to structure what only falls apart.
